How To Cloth Diaper At Night? |

It's a good idea to change baby before a night nursing, or any nursing, if needed, so baby can go to sleep afterward dry and full and happy. The chill of a wet diaper at night can wake baby. Sometimes I lay a diaper in a cover and keep it next to our bed so I can change baby at night while partially incoherent. I take it to the bucket in the morning. For younger ones, lay them on top of a waterproof sheet, covered with something warm, like a receiving blanket, or better yet, a wool pad of some kind. If the sheet does get wet at night just change in the morning. For very heavy wetters, double diaper or use a diaper doubler, and then put a pull-on cover over whatever other cover you are using, for extra protection. You may be able to go the whole night this way. I have found that an older child does not poop at night. A completely dry and unsoiled diaper in the morning is a good sign that a toddler is ready for toilet training. |
